Quick Guide
- The pit is divided into layers — each hides new dangers, new finds, and a boss guardian.
- Steps get pricier with every layer you reach; income scaling is the real depth stat.
- The developer has not published an official layer list with names or counts — this page tracks confirmed mechanics only.
- Falling off the stairs is safe: you return to where you slipped.
How Layers Work
Every layer in Depth Incremental is a depth band of the pit: reach it by buying steps, survive what it hides, and beat the boss guarding the way down. The official description is blunt about the texture of the descent — “every layer hides something new and dangerous” — and the game’s systems follow through: new layers bring new fossil finds, new upgrade trees to expand, and step prices that climb with depth.
The loop between layers is always the same shape: income → steps → boss → new layer → repeat. When that loop stalls, the fix is upgrades or Rebirth Guide — never grinding the same stretch of stairs.
No official layer list yet
Layer names and total count are not published by the developer. Community exploration continues; anything not confirmed here is labeled unverified rather than invented.
What Each Layer Changes
Step pricing
A boss gate
New upgrade trees
New finds
The Fastest Way Down
Depth is bought with income, not patience: Faster Cash and More Cash early (the Best Upgrades list), Luck stacked before digging sessions to fund the next push, and a rebirth when the wall between layers stops paying. For the gate itself — the boss — the rule is simple: get stronger first.

Layers FAQ
How many layers are in Depth Incremental?
The developer has not published an official count. Each layer is confirmed to bring a boss, pricier steps, and new discoveries — names and totals are still being verified by the community.
What blocks the next layer?
A boss. Every layer is guarded by one, and depth beyond it opens after the fight — plus the rising Cash cost of steps.
Do step prices really rise every layer?
Yes — steps scale upward with depth, which is why income upgrades outperform raw grinding.
